Saffron Walden Squash Club used to have a thriving junior section comprising over 25 juniors. Unfortunately following the pandemic interest in junior coaching has waned. SWSC would be keen to support a junior coaching programme again if there is interest locally.
If you have an interest in resurrecting the junior coaching at Lord Butler leisure centre or you have children who want to learn to play squash, please contact the club to see what might be possible.
Junior group coaching is open to ages from 8-18 and would normally takes place every Saturday during term time for 40 minutes from about 10am. Juniors are split into groups of up to 8, depending upon age and ability. The emphasis is on learning through fun and playing with friends. There is a junior ladder hosted on the SportyHQ website. All those attending junior coaching can play in it.
